+ Project Synopsis

Nature Connect Central Oregon had a clear mission: to create a more diverse, engaged, and aware community through nature. But the existing brand didn’t fully reflect that. It felt distant when it needed to feel welcoming. It was muted when nature is vibrant. It spoke to some but not all.

We needed to design a brand that would bridge gaps—between people and the outdoors, between resources and communities, between what nature offers and who gets to experience it. It had to feel inclusive, trusting, and full of life while still carrying the strength and clarity to inspire action.

So we got to work.

We started by defining the core. The brand needed to be a hub—a place where people of all backgrounds could find belonging in nature. This meant creating a visual identity that was approachable yet professional, structured yet organic. A balance between adventure and trust.

The solution? A simple yet powerful symbol: a hand reaching out as a butterfly prepares to land.

This moment—a universal, almost instinctual experience—captures everything NCCO stands for. Connection. Curiosity. A shared moment in nature.
